The game is now scheduled to launch in 2022, and it has scrapped its plans for early access.
Mortal Online 2 has shifted its launch to 2022, scrapping their plans for early access. The game will be available on Steam and the Epic Games Store starting in 2019.
So far, it’s been the story of 2021 that so many MMOs have been delayed, but here’s another: Mortal Online 2’s release date has been pushed out to January 25th, 2022, and there will no longer be an early access period.
“We are so close to adding all of the features and content that we were planning on including for the full release that we don’t see a reason to enter early access anymore,” StarVault wrote on Steam, instead urging players to purchase a beta package to keep access to the sequel MMO’s ongoing beta, which will “continue to run until the release in January.”
“We will simply release Mortal Online 2 on January 25th, with our much-anticipated housing system in place, as well as a hefty dose of polish, bug fixes, and more content, totally skipping the early access period. This news will certainly upset many of you who were looking forward to the previously announced October release, and we understand your sadness. We can’t wait to show the world what Mortal Online 2 has to offer, but first and foremost, we want to provide the most content-rich, reliable, and enjoyable experience we can, and we guarantee it will be well worth the wait.”
40,000 gamers were seen during StarVault’s stress testing in 2021, according to StarVault; our own Stream Team played the game in March. The early access period, replete with its contentious subscription, was supposed to begin on October 26th, thus the elimination of the early access period neatly avoids that.
