The New York Giants have been struggling to find a quarterback after trading Odell Beckham Jr. last year, but they found a diamond in the rough this week with Daniel Jones.

The Daniel Jones fumbles is a story about how the New York Giants rallied to their first win this season. Quarterback Daniel Jones was the key player in the game, and he received much praise from his teammates.

NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana — The New York Giants’ insistence on having a “special player” in quarterback Daniel Jones was on full display Sunday.

Jones led the Giants to a 27-21 victory against the Saints at Caesars Superdome, rescuing them from an 11-point fourth-quarter hole against one of the league’s best defenses.

He threw for 402 yards and two touchdowns, and he made many key passes on the game-winning drive in overtime, which ended with a 6-yard touchdown run by Saquon Barkley.

In a game without wide outs Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton, as well as starting middle linebacker Blake Martinez, the Giants (1-3) needed every bit of it. Jones was instrumental in helping them win their first game of the season.

Coach Joe Judge remarked of his quarterback, “He had a heck of a game.”

Jones has had a fantastic season, committing just two turnovers in four games. Jones’ first two professional seasons were marred by turnovers.

His colleagues claim that the rest of the world is now catching up to what they already know about their quarterback.

“He demonstrated what we’ve been witnessing.” “Hopefully, you’ve noticed it as well,” Barkley added. “He’s been chastised from the day he was selected.” Every day, that man does nothing but come in and work, improve, and lead. He’s an opponent. He demonstrated today that he is a unique player.

“We realized he was one of a kind.”

Jones backed up Barkley’s views when the Giants needed it most in New Orleans. He was the one who threw everything.

  • When the Giants were behind 21-10 with just over seven minutes left, Jones struck Barkley for a 54-yard touchdown down the left sideline.

  • In the last three minutes, he guided the Giants down the field for the game-tying field goal.

  • On the game-winning drive in overtime, he went 5-for-5 for 67 yards, including a crucial third-and-5 pass to wide receiver Kenny Golladay that got them inside the 5-yard line and set up the winning touchdown.

In the fourth quarter and overtime combined, Jones completed 14 of 19 passes for 203 yards and a score.

After enjoying his most fruitful day of his short career, rookie wide receiver Kadarius Toney said, “Man, that was a fantastic performance by Daniel!” “Regardless of whether he had a good or poor game, no one in the locker room doubts him. There is never any question because we know that at the end of the day, our faith is our most powerful conviction.”

Jones has had a good week overall, not just on Sunday. This year, he has performed well from the start in a season that many have dubbed “make or break” for the young quarterback.

Jones, 24, has thrown four touchdowns and one interception this season, completing 66.6 percent of his throws. The interception occurred on a Hail Mary pass at the conclusion of the first half on Sunday. He’s also only lost one fumble and scored two touchdowns on the ground.

All while throwing the long ball very well. According to ESPN Stats and Information, Jones had the second-highest completion percentage on passes of at least 15 air yards entering Sunday. Against the Saints, he finished 8-of-11 for 229 yards and two touchdowns, with one interception, establishing career highs in completions and yards. In the fourth quarter and overtime, he was 3-of-4 passing on those throws, a performance that should get some people’s attention.

“This is my first year with him, and I constantly tell him that I see the effort he puts in over the offseason,” Golladay said. “I see what a wonderful person he aspires to be. He went out there today, extremely competitive, and he had a great day.

“It’s not so much what I discovered about him that I’m interested in. It’s what I expected him to be capable of.”

The daniel jones draft class is a quarterback who was selected in the 2019 NFL Draft. Daniel Jones, the Giants’ first-round pick, rallied his team to their first win of the season on Sunday.
